brazilian blowout review

So like I posted earlier, I went in for a Brazilian Blowout treatment.. The purpose is to take hair and straighten it so you don't have to use a flat iron on a regular basis. I normally wouldn't consider this kinda thing cause I didn't think I needed it but it was offered to me as a "walking advertisement" level and well, I can't say no to that kinda thing, I am after all, a salon and spa junkie.
Just so you can get an idea of the progress and process... here is a timeline in photos....
This is what my mop would normally look like unstyled. This photo was taken after a night going to bed with wet hair so I woke up looking like medusa

So I am going in today for a treatment called a "Brazilian blowout". NO, cochinos, it has nothing to do with pubic hair, sex or hair in the ass crack. It's supposed to straighten and make my hair super sleek and shiny without the aid of a flat iron. It's supposed to last 3 months too! We shall see how it works on me but rest assured there will be a review of the process and results.
I would now like the time, since we're talking about Brazilians, to say the word PANOCHA. Such a filthy, awesome word.
I am heading up to Long Beach this evening to hang out at the opening of my little show, if you are in the area, stop by. I will let you touch my boob.

It will be nice if they get sold but part of me hopes the bumble bee, mushrooms or stump stay, they were my favorites. It's like putting up your child for adoption. It is hard to let go! I have scans of all of them and will post them in a few days for all you to see.
Speaking of, I had this weird dream I was hanging out with V type aliens and Josh got all pissed off cause I let one of them grab my melones. My logic of explanation was, "it's like when gay men grab them, they don't give a shit". heh. This is what you get when you watch V before going to bed.
EDIT:
This morning Reza took a dump, she's a morning dumper good for her. She calls me in, we take care of her business and as she flushes the toilet she waves and says, "bye poopoo, I love you!". I about died. I cannot wait till I don't have to wipe anyone's ass other than my own.

Today, through no fault of my own, I found out I lost 70.00 dollars worth of clothes and I couldn't do anything about it. The post office said they delivered the package and I know that it wouldn't be possible, because my apartment has a if the person is not here, don't finish the delivery rule. So, somehow they still stamped the package as delivered and at the time it was delivered I was still at work. My mail box is four inches by 12 inches wide. It can't accommodate anything bigger than a paper envelope or a magazine. But, they tell me that they are not responsible, since the postal person stamped it as delivered. I'm hoping that the management still has a record of it, because this happened just before they stop using the security camera to record. I'm so depressed now. I have nothing to show for it. At my current wage, that package took me two and half days of wages. Now, I have to make it up by working another two and a half days just to recover my loss. There is a high possibility the delivery person just left the box in the mail room, and whoever it was that saw it took it. Two and a half days of wages. I'm tired. I just spent half of today crying my eyes out. I think I'm going to go bury myself in my blanket and don't come out for the rest of the week.

I am taking a little break from editing what feels like a NEVER ENDING folder of photos from the wedding I shot with Ted last month. Fuck, no wonder photographers charge so much for weddings, nothing like the pressure of delivering amazing and holding the fate of someone's precious moments in your hand. WHOA.
So I am sitting here editing photos while Reza watches some shit on the DVR, when this commercial comes on for a "new" kind of cracker. An appalling cracker at that. I am on chat with

And no, I don't care this took up the entire length of your screen. You love it and my horrible typing skillz.

Hier soir, je me suis maté "17 Again".

Things girl has said lately...
While in the car today.. "mom, the sun is following us. we got to get outta here!"
While on the way out to see the full moon last night. The palm trees are shedding these pellet type things... as Josh and her walked to the corner to see the "harvest moon" she says, "I'm running over coconuts!!"
We had some guys here installing a central heating system for the past couple days. She would not leave these poor dudes alone, all up in their grill asking them questions. I was in the kitchen doing dishes and I hear her walk over to one of the dudes and she says, "Hey! what are you doing in my house?"
It's odd cause as the time goes by she becomes more and more communicative. I catch myself having mini conversations with her and as much as she still mumbles and gurgles like she had a North Carolina accent, I can clearly make out a lot of things just as much. I have a feeling this year is gonna be a lot of anecdote jotting of things she said, funny, odd, wild sounding things. I cannot wait.

we moved on saturday. the best thing about that is knowing that we won't have to EVER do it again, if we don't want to. that right there is a huge weight off of my shoulders.
last night was the first time in a month that i was able to sit on my couch and just relax. i almost forgot what it was like to snuggle under a blanket with my dog. it was even better in my new living room. that right there is a giant slice of happy.
all that's really left to do is decorate.
hopefully there will be time to have a housewarming party in the near future.

Man there be a whole lot of whining and complaining up in this piece. My friends list is 80% moaning. My kidney hurts, my colon twitches, I have a boil on my ass...
Guess what y'all?!
My house is a mess, I gained 15 lbs in the past few months, there are dudes here making holes all over the place, I have heaps of laundry to wash and fold and you know what I am doing? Saying fuck it... and chatting on the net while pilfering Reza's Halloween candy.
I am taking a break. Yes, shit has its ups and downs.. the month of October chewed me up and spit me out, but life is too short to be complaining about everything all the damn time. November is here and damn if I am gonna transition into 35 being a McFuchi. I am doing it with style.
So cut it out yo. That shit is contagious and I am not gonna go down like that. As a friend of mine said, I am far too techno for that ;)
And if you ever wanted to see what Josh and I talk about, here is a fine example.

her first trick o treat

posted by: serialkiller

So Halloween came and went. We ended up taking Reza up to Poway so she could go out in a pack with the the KKK aka Kieran + Killian K. Quinn ended up coming with us too so here we go, 3 sets of parents and 4 kids. Keep in mind that this was Reza's first trick o' treating excursion... she was just too small to get it before and taking infants or kids who can barely walk is just stupid, it's more for the parents than it is for the kids.
On came the mess of running after them, them running everywhere, walking on people's lawns, Reza opening and slamming peoples doors and Reza not getting that you only get what they give you, you don't grab their bowl. Of course I am laughing my ass off about all of this cause well, I remember what it was like to be a kid and let loose on the streets for candy collection. Hellz yeah. They were like little crack fiends unleashed, spun out of their minds on sugar and the rush of what was about to be added to their loot bags.
On top of that, Josh, the former J.W., had never been trick o' treating in his life so this was all new to him too, but I shall leave that story up to him.
It was gothic Christmas y'all.... and here we are, out on the streets taking our chitlin trick o' treating. It was the best time. Michelle and I at one point are standing there on the sidewalk, watching our kids knock on a door and she turns to me and says, "who would have thought we would be doing this instead of going to club". And she is so right cause it's incredibly surreal... one year we're swinging martinis at her pad, the next we're out with our kids. No amount of Sabbat or club related crap could ever make up for the awesomeness that it was, reliving my childhood while watching Reza make memories of her own.
This is what it's all about.

Herbert Sucks . . . Necks in The Fearless Vampire Killers
A recent exchange with
My list illustrates my usual eclectic appreciation for everything from the ridiculous to the sublime (or vice versa).
10. Dracula (1979)
Director John Badham's version, with Frank Langella as a sexed-up Drac. Badham cut his chops on TV and made a breakthrough with Saturday Night Fever. Langella is best known now for his Oscar-worthy Nixon in Frost. The sexual tension in this one is what made me add it to my list, although I wanted to slap Lawrence Olivier's scenery snapping Van Helsing. Oi vey!
Speaking of Van Helsing, he is in some ways a better known character than the Count himself. He's been played by some pretty hefty talent, including a couple guys with "Sir" in front of their names, Olivier and Anthony Hopkins. Christopher Plummer was notable in Dracula 2000. Edward Van Sloane was the first, originating the role on stage with Lugosi in 1927 and then playing the "Professor" or "Doctor" in both Dracula and Dracula's Daughter. (I was shocked to learn he was an American character actor, born in Minnesota. I was convinced he was German or Dutch.) And of course the mega-hot Hugh Jackman brought the character to blockbuster status. My all-time favorite was the Hammer Film version, played again and again by Peter Cushing, the foil to many folks' favorite Drac, Christopher Lee. (Funny, but none of Lee's countless versions of the Count make my list.)
9. From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)
The guilty pleasure of vampire movies. (Thanks Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.) George Clooney with that tattoo and that twitch, Selma Hyack in one of the most unforgettable dance sequences on film, and Cheech (or was it Chong?) barking out the promise of "Pussy" at the Titty Twister bar (which is a good place to avoid, just in case you're wondering). He made the 'P' word as memorable as Al Pacino's cruder 'C' word in Scarface.
8. Capt. Kronos, Vampire Hunter (1974)
He's hot, he's dedicated, he's the Indiana Jones of vampire killers. He's got GREAT HAIR. If you've never seen the legendary Caroline Munro (the Megan Fox of her day), see her in this movie. A Hammer film.
7. Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
Francis Ford Coppola masters the art of the big bite. As the King of Counts, Gary Oldman wears a profile as memorable as the original pre-Dracula vamp Nosferatu (is that his head or his hair?) and captures the heart-breaking angst of the vampire's curse. (And lovely Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker doesn't hurt.)
6. Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
My favorite classic comedy team meets three monsters, two of them the 'real guys,' Lugosi as Dracula and Lon Chaney, Jr. as Larry Talbot, the Wolfman. (Glenn Strange, Sam from Gunsmoke, was The Monster, because Karloff sadly turned down the part. Strange also played the part in House of Dracula and House of Frankenstein, so he was no slouch.) This is both hilarious and creepy, the best horror parody I can think of. Lugosi outdid his original Dracula, and he played off Lou Costello as perfectly as Bud Abbott did.
5. Brides of Dracula (1960)
I could watch it any day of the week, the beautiful ladies, the poignant vampire mother, the handsome, evil young vamp, and, of course, Peter Cushing as Van Helsing, heroically branding himself on the neck with the sign of the cross after he's been bitten. A Hammer classic.
4. The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967)
Gorgeous Sharon Tate, pretty Roman Polanski (who also directed), a mincing Draco Malfoy-ish vamp who has his fangs set on Roman. Great atmosphere and a truly creepy take on a Vampire Ball.
3. Interview With the Vampire (1994)
I couldn't believe how much I ended up loving Tom Cruise as Lestat (not to mention Brad as Louie and Antonio as Armand). I saw this (probably eight times) before my first visit to New Orleans, then had a tour bus driver spontaneously offer to take us past spots where the movie had been filmed. I just have to close my eyes to relive it all, the music, the costumes, the dialogue I know by heart, wonderfully directed by Neil Jordan. Who can ever forget Lestat biting that rat and squeezing its blood into the goblet like he was making his morning orange juice! (Oprah was appalled, and I was entranced.)
2. The Lost Boys (1986)
Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire.
It was more than a movie for me, it was a lifestyle. It defined one whole summer of my life, and, yes, I wore David's hairstyle without apology. The music, the memories, the hot young actors . . . I can recite the lines. Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric will never be more beautiful. (As I'm sure Joel Schumacher noticed when he directed this.)
1. Dracula (1931)
Bela Lugosia, the original, directed by the great Tod Browning. I know this one by heart, and it has some of my all-time favorite lines:
"They're crazy . . . they're all crazy. Except you and me . . . and I have me doubts about you!
David Frye's ("Rats!") Renfield rivals Lugosi's Dracula for memorable-ity. It was incredibly exciting when they added the Philip Glass score in 1998 (although some people admittedly don't like it). Edward Van Sloane returned as Van Helsing in Dracula's Daughter (on my alternate list).
( Honorable Mentions )

It's been a long day... woke up and the familia and I headed out to a local Dia De Los Muertos festival. It was good time and I got some good eye candy but it wasn't anywhere as cool as the one in Los Angeles. I took a ton of photos but I am not editing it all right now... this was one of my favorite moments though...

Shortly after we headed over to the Irvine to meet up
gloomygoods and family, to hand off my artwork that will be at her art studio this coming week. We had some time to kill so the girl and I rode the carousel. Kinda foggy but I hardly ever get photos of the both of us so deal.

Last night we did Halloween with the Kneelands and Cheesmans, then headed over to the Donovon Soiree. More on both later... tons of pix to go through! but alas, I have a messy house and there will be 3 days of stinky boys up in the house cause the landlord is installing central heating. Pain in my ass but WOO!
